Designer & Volunteer in Intercultural Education
For over a decade, I’ve contributed to AFS — a global nonprofit fostering intercultural learning and global citizenship — through a dynamic mix of design, leadership, and education roles. As a volunteer, I’ve combined creativity with purpose, helping connect and inspire young changemakers across the world.

Design Contributions
Visual Identity & Branding
Developed individual team identities and the official branding for AFS Costa Rica’s 70th Anniversary. Led cohesive event branding projects for national programs, creating immersive experiences through visuals.
Digital Media & Motion Graphics
Designed motion graphics for training videos and courses, enhancing attention and learning in virtual environments. Created announcement videos to promote scholarships and opportunities to volunteers and youth.
Promotional Materials
Crafted social media content, flyers, banners, t-shirts, pins, lanyards, and notebooks. These visuals supported both internal operations and outreach, boosting volunteer and social media engagement.
Web & Content Strategy
Reorganized and restructured several of the pages from the AFS Costa Rica website on WordPress, ensuring clearer communication and an updated visual presence.
International Collaboration
Supported the AFS International marketing team by designing content for the Youth Assembly, including reels and posts for social media campaigns.
The Youth Assembly 2024 – NYC
Selected as a scholarship recipient and part of the Communications Team, I worked with a multicultural crew to document and share the experience in real-time. I captured photos, created reels, and told impactful stories of youth leadership from across the globe.
Beyond Design
In parallel to my creative work, I’ve served as Mentor on multiple occasions, Local Field Coordinator in different fields, Certified Trainer & Workshop Facilitator. These roles have deepened my skills in intercultural communication, active listening, crisis management, diplomacy, and organizational development — all of which inform my design practice today.
Design with Purpose
Volunteering at AFS has shaped my approach to design as a human-centered and globally aware practice. Whether creating content for trainings or building brand systems for cultural exchange, I design to connect, empower, and inspire across borders.
